Hamster Rescue Organisations:

Hamster Rescue (UK): As this website explains, I take in unwanted hamsters and rehome into suitable homes. We provide help, advice and information on all aspects of owning a hamster of any breed. I run a small non-charitable, self-funded rescue and will provide sanctuary for life to any hamster that is unsuitable for rehoming. Sometimes I have many hamsters in, other times we go through a quiet spell, however, advise is always available. Contact: hamsterrescue@btinternet.com

Somershire Hamster Rescue:  Wendy Barry rescues hamsters and other small animals.  She covers the eastern part of Somerset, West Wiltshire, Bath and all surrounding towns.  She also volunteers at a local RSPCA affiliated centre in Bath.  They also take in rescue hamsters.  You can contact her on  01373 300766.

Towyvale Hamstery: Breeder of hamsters, but also has rescue hamsters and works with the RSPCA with rehoming. They provide a "National Rescued Hamster List" so may be able to put people in contact with hamsters for rehoming throughout the UK. For more information visit their website at: http://www.towyvale.com where you will also find their phone number and email address. They are based in Llandovery, Carmarthenshire.

Great British Hamster Rescue: Rescuing hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs and other small animals for many years. As with all rescues, some are their because the owner has lost interest, or are moving house and unable to take pets with them, others have just been abandoned, or become too much of a burden because they are ill. For more information on rehoming please Contact Jacky Carter on 020 8658 5452. She is based in SE London. If your would like to see hamsters that are currently available for rehoming from GBH Rescue, then Visit this website: http://www.thehamstersite.com/current_rescues.htm . This website also provides a lot of information on hamsters.

RSPCA: Small branch based in and around the Harrow area of London: They don't have a rehoming centre, but all animals in their care are looked after by fosterers until permanent homes can be found. Hamster Rescue (UK) helped to rehome, Speedy, Faye & Miles recently by advertising them on this website. You may like to contact Sarah or Tracy on 020 8907 2702 to see if they have any hamsters available for rehoming.

Alternatively, you may like to contact your local RSPCA Rehoming Centre, as they also on occasions have small animals including hamsters looking for new homes.

"Thankyou for taking the time to consider a rescue. They deserve a second chance".

We are always grateful for any donation made to Hamster Rescue (UK). This goes towards us continuing our work as a rescue and enables us to provide a safe sanctuary for hamsters until a new home can be found. At the moment we are not a registered charity, but hope that one day our hamster rescue will recieve this status.
